VCE PE Fencing
VCE PE students participated in an introductory fencing skills session, with the aim of observing physiological strategies and the role of physical aids that support the musculoskeletal system and help prevent injuries.
Fun fact: according to our presenter, due to the protective equipment used, there are actually fewer injuries in Olympic-level fencing than in table tennis!
VCE PE Ice Hockey
The Unit 1-2 VCE PE students took part in an exciting Ice Hockey experience. It offered a chance to develop skills such as skating, puck handling, and shooting, while also gaining an understanding of teamwork in a fast-paced setting. Highlights included students honing their skating techniques and participating in scrimmages. The friendly but competitive atmosphere kept everyone engaged and by the end of the session, students gained a greater appreciation for the complexity of the game.

Sports Competitive Mini Golf
The mini golf excursion was a fun and rewarding experience for students in the Sport Competitive elective. They practiced their skills while tackling different challenges of the course. Key moments included improving their techniques, finding creative ways to navigate obstacles, and building teamwork within their groups. The friendly competition kept things exciting and motivating. By the end of the day, students had improved skills and reinforced the values of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Interschool Sport
This year we had a total of 59 teams represent TC in interschool sports. From those teams, 10 teams represented TC in the Eastern Metropolitan Region, and recently the intermediate boys basketball team won the State competition!
Additionally, following on from our Pool Party and Athletics Carnival, Imogen Nolan made it through to State Swimming and Bruce Thornber, Amelie Schuette and Charlise Licorni competed at State Athletics.
Congratulations to all students that signed up for the opportunities to participate in sports this year - keep an eye out on Teams, to sign up to 2025 interschool sports events.

Zone Table Tennis Tournament ā An Epic Day!
This term, our schoolās junior table tennis teamāTom, Yutong, Ethan, and Joshācompeted in the zone round after smashing the first district tournament. Everyone was super pumped and ready to give it their all.
In the group stages, we played both singles and doubles matches. The boys worked really well together as a team, showing great sportsmanship and supporting each other through every point. It was a tough competition, though, as we were in a group with the two teams that eventually made the finals! We fought hard but lost two games in the group stages. Luckily, we did win one game, which lifted our spirits.
After the group games, we had a friendly match against another school. It was relaxed and so much fun! Even though we didnāt make it past the group stages, the day was a great experience for everyone, and the team came away with smiles and memories. Awesome effort, guys!
Hereās to more table tennis in the future! š
T20 Cricket
On the 10th of October the Entry's and FLE 1s went out for a fun day of T20 Cricket. The gala day event was exciting and we played against Ashwood, Auburn, Heathmont and Mullauna. We were very competitive all day and made it to the final against Mullauna, unfortunately we lost by 20 runs. All students did a great job of showing collegiality, team work and sportsmanship. Bring on more cricket in the future!
Futsal
Futsal, an exhilarating day at Knox for our two teams. The A team, lead by coach Taj Fuga, fought valiantly all day against tough competition. They ended up 2nd in their pool and were dubbed the ālucky losersā. The B team rocked the competition, winning their games and earning a spot in the semi-final. Plot twist. The semi-final saw both TC teams face off. The A team got the win, progressed to and then lost the final. All students displayed great qualities of sportsmanship and had a fun day out! Well done representing TC so beautifully!
