Entry Engineering
This term Entry students have been learning about motion and forces in Science using a variety of simple machines including pulleys, levers and parachutes.
We learnt about Indigenous engineering in spears and spear throwers and then conducted our own experiments using ball throwers of different lengths to see the impact of increasing the length of the lever on the distance the ball can go.
In the learning task students learnt about biomimicry and how we can find inspiration for engineering in nature. Students were tasked with devising an invention inspired by nature to complete one of three challenges; pick up seeds like a bird, build a glider (not a paper plane!) or throw a seed far.
