Bee Club news
A few months ago our resident apiarist, Meg Bailey, rescued a bee swarm that had been living in a bird house in a tree due to be chopped down. We relocated the box to TC but had to wait until a warm sunny day to take the box apart and move the colony into a bee hive box so we can actively manage the bees. This is important for looking for signs of disease and to prevent swarming.
This week the Bee Club dismantled the box and successfully moved the bees into their new home. It was a sticky, messy project but we go there. And whoops, some of their honey accidentally dropped into our mouths! Delicious!!
