Extra-curricular Activities

Strive & Man Cave

This term, our FLE2 students had the opportunity to engage with facilitators from ManCave, Safety Pact and NECA (National Electrical and Communications Association). Across the day, students explored themes of self-awareness, healthier masculinity, diversity and self-esteem through a range of practical and creative activities.

The day was a huge success. Our amazing students engaged wholeheartedly with the learning opportunities, and the teachers and staff who supported and encouraged the students.

Through games, activities and creating safe environments the ManCave crew explored themes of healthier masculinity, personal development and self-reflection. The students really enjoyed and challenged themselves. Well done!

The STRIVE group rotated through three activities: self-defence and self-awareness with Safety Pact; learning about electrical apprenticeships with NEKA, including stripping wires, drilling conduit and fixing power points to walls; and a creative, affirming art activity with TC teachers and staff, challenging stereotypes and celebrating diversity.

We are very proud of these opportunities to build our students Social and Emotional learning which aligns with the Respectful Relationships Rights and Resilience (RRRR) Curriculum. The RRRR curriculum aims to build personal, social, emotional and ethical capabilities and encourages critical thinking and empathy skills, important skills development which supports our students to navigate positive healthy relationships.

Thank you again to all involved.
