Wear it Purple day

TC staff and students had a blast celebrating Wear It Purple Day, showing off their most creative purple outfits! The school was bursting with purple everything—nail polish, hairspray, glitter, and even delicious purple doughnuts that added a sweet touch to the day. Headspace Box Hill joined the fun, hosting a cool bracelet-making activity that everyone loved. It was a vibrant day filled with fun, creativity, and, of course, all things purple!

Period Pride

TC celebrated Women’s Health Week 2024 with a burst of fun and colour and wave of period pride – taking a stand to end the shame and stigma that surrounds periods. Lunchtime activities were a buzz with creativity, featuring a  sea of red paper chains, murals,  funky Posca’s markers for the art competition, and bursts of red lollies – all symbolising empowerment. The excitement did not end there – each participant walked away with a showbag full of goodies, spreading joy and pride further. It was an uplifting celebration that left everyone feeling proud and empowered.

R U Okay Day

In true TC style, we went all out and celebrated R U Okay Day, making sure that everyone was checking in on their friends, family and colleagues when it comes to mental health and support.  Fun lunch time activities were organised – including bracelet making, conversation starter games, funky canvas painting, and the ultimate challenge - guessing how many yellow jellybeans were in the jar (did you guess right??) There were also yummy yellow doughnuts for an extra treat. The school was buzzing with good vibes, leaving all feeling confident and ready to check in with their mates.

Queer club

The Queer club’s good vibes continue to successfully take place on Thursdays. Queer club provides a safe space for rainbow youth at the school to express themselves, find support, and build community. From group discussions on identity and wellness to social events and advocacy initiatives, queer club strives to meet the diverse needs of its members, and supports them to be proud of who they are.

Building Boundaries Workshop with Banyule Youth Services

Banyule Youth Services delivered this exciting workshop, giving our students the opportunity to dive into discussions about healthy boundaries. Whether with friendships, relationships, families, work or school settings, they explored how to set those important boundaries and navigate their connections with confidence.

ToolBox Education

Let’s refresh our mindset! Toolbox Education hosted an exciting an interactive workshop to students, staff and parents, providing everyone with information and tools to help young people tackle anxious and unhelpful thoughts. Thinking of our mind as a mobile phone, buzzing with notifications (thoughts) and apps - that leave us feeling down. This workshop showed us how to challenge our thinking and unsubscribe from these unhelpful notifications (thoughts) and showed us how to challenge our thinking with more positive thoughts and a healthier mindset.

RAISE youth mentoring program

What a fantastic year it has been for the RAISE Youth Mentoring program!  We had  13 incredible students go through the program who bonded with their mentors, building strong  and lasting connections.   Graduation was sensational filled with heartfelt and genuine words which were exchanged between mentors and mentee’s - there was not a dry eye in the room.  Watching these students grow, gain confidence and overcome challenges has been amazing. We look forward to continuing the program in 2025 and keep the good vibes going.
