Road to Zero - Melbourne Museum Excursion
This term the FLE to Pre-VCE Health and Human Development students completed a Safety unit which saw them explore a range of safety topics including road safety. To compliment this unit, the class had the exciting opportunity to visit the Road to Zero exhibition at the Melbourne Museum, an immersive road safety experience designed to educate and inspire the next generation. The exhibition is part of Victoria’s initiative to create a future where no lives are lost on the road.
Using the latest visual and digital technology, students explored interactive exhibits that demonstrated how road safety is evolving. They learned how road accidents impact the human body and got a glimpse into the future of safer travel. The visit also included a deep dive into current road safety campaigns, where students critically analysed TV advertisements. In a hands-on activity, they even had the chance to create their own road safety ads, applying what they had learned. This excursion was a powerful reminder of the role we all play in making our roads safer.

Ultimate Frisbee
The team was buzzing with excitement as they arrived at the interschool ultimate competition, mostly from Ezra. Every player was determined to showcase their skills and give it their all. After some tough matches, but some amazing demonstrations of skill, the first three games didn't go in their favour. The team's spirits had waned slightly after a tough third match, as they entered their fourth and final game. After some back and forth with the momentum of the game, the team was able to pull off a terrific victory, proving their resilience and determination. We look forward to next year, hoping to be even more competitive!
Outdoor Environmental Science
Unit 3&4 Coastal Camp
VCE 3-4 spent a few days exploring the Coastal Environments around Barwon Heads and The Otways National Park. We went horseback riding through the National Park for a few hours. We saw wallabies and lots of different native flora and fauna. At Ocean Grove we surfed in amazing conditions and even saw dolphins. Our Sunset walk and Coastal investigation were amazing. Finally we travelled to Werribee gorge and went for a bushwalk through some spectacular scenery. Awesome.
Unit 1&2 Phillip Island
VCE 1-2 spent a few days studying Eco tourism, land management and peer led activities in the outdoors. Our trip took us to Phillip Island where we looked at the environmental programs. We studied the actions taken at the Nobbies and at the Penguin parade. For a bit of adventure, our team did some Stand Up Paddleboarding and then moved onto the Koala Sanctuary. Finally, we got to experience the awesome Woolami Coastal walk as we were led by our peers to some stunning views. Amazing trip.
FLE TO PRE Gippsland
FLE-Pre Outdoor Ed ventured to Gippsland for our 1 week Rubicon Camp. Unfortunately, the lack of snow meant that we had to be flexible with what we did. After our initial night at Rubicon Nayook, we moved to 'Blores Hill Mountain Bike Park' and the students undertook a mountain biking program over the next few days. We had groups for those that were expert, intermediate and novice bikers. Many of the three days biking covered around 10km on the trails. We also did a 'Rail Trail' ride from one town to another [10km+]. We cooked on fuel stoves and studied the various types of leadership that make up a high performing team. Once back at Rubicon we also did their 'High Ropes Course' which was amazing. What a fantastic week.
