Art Immersion Camp

My favourite thing about art camp was being able to form a tight knit community based around a commonality of enjoying art and it’s forms, it allowed me to enjoy the more simpler things in life whilst doing it with friends. Something unexpected I learned from art camp was that art takes a lot longer than I’d assume, though there is nothing wrong with being methodical, I never took into consideration the time I was working for.

My favourite part about Art Immersion camp was the sense of belonging and spending time with peers by the campfire or on walks. Something unexpected I learnt from Art Immersion camp was how nature walks really benefitted my art. 😊

My favourite part about Art Immersion camp was writing songs with Ryan and hanging out with the TC Arts community around the campfire! Something unexpected I learnt from Art Immersion camp was how to complete an unexpected forest obstacle course!

My favourite parts of art camp were being able to spend some time in the beautiful environment around Anglesea, as well as forming & strengthening friendships with several cool people. Definitely looking forward to going again next year. Something I didn't expect at art camp was just how much I would enjoy using photography as my primary art form, it was great to have a way of being creative on-the-go and I think it helped me stay in the moment and enjoy the location more than something like painting (which I also brought) might have.

My favourite part about art camp was definitely going on long bush walks for my photography. Just being able to pick a direction and start walking was very freeing, and I absolutely loved it! I absolutely can't wait for next year! Something unexpected I learnt from art camp was just how much being away from technology and school would benefit my creative process.

Pre VCD Architecture Excursion

Our Pre Visual Communication Design students recently embarked on an exciting adventure around Melbourne, diving into their unit on Parasitic Architecture with some hands-on research in the form of a site visit. They roamed the city to scout out unique and often overlooked spaces perfect for their innovative building designs.

From blank walls on towering office buildings to hidden laneways, or railway yards, and even under bridges over the Yarra, students explored it all! A standout moment of the day was discovering former TC student Louis Moore’s @louis.moore_art incredible street art in Hosier Lane—an inspiring glimpse into how TC art and design can lead to amazing creative careers.

Special thanks go to our awesome bus drivers, Ryan and Meg, and our fantastic helpers, Holly and Bella, who made the day even more enjoyable.

Stay tuned for the incredible designs our students are currently creating, which will be on display in the upcoming Term 4 TC Art and Design Exhibition. You won’t want to miss it!

Art and Design Day YAY

As Term 3 kicked off, students had a great time diving into the world of art and design for a whole day of creativity and fun! They had the chance to explore a variety of workshops and really let their imaginations run wild.

From hands on creativity in woodwork to crafting unique jewellery pieces, students were busy creating amazing things. Some designed eye-catching logos on t-shirts, while others painted vibrant acrylic still life scenes on boards. There were also cozy pyjama pants and nifty plant propagation stations made, showcasing the diverse talents of our students.

Our day was captured in a fantastic TC Insta takeover, so be sure to check out our social media to see the highlights!

We also enjoyed a tasty break with morning tea and a pizza lunch, making the day even more enjoyable.

Overall, it was a fantastic day filled with creativity, camaraderie, and a lot of fun. Great job to everyone who participated and made it a memorable experience!
