Scrimmage at Camberwell Grammer on May 27
Templestowe College students achieved outstanding success at the recent robotics competition, with 25 teams competing overall, including four teams from our school.
Our students performed exceptionally well, with:
Thomas F, Lachlan G and Fraser N finishing in 1st place
Leonidas C, Jeana B and Matthew D finishing in 2nd place
Ike N and Jude W finishing in 4th place.
This was a fantastic achievement and reflected the hard work, problem-solving skills and teamwork students have developed through the robotics program.
A special congratulations goes to our winning team, Thomas, Lachlan and Fraser, who were the only group at the competition to successfully implement pneumatics (the use of gas or pressurised air to create mechanical motion) in their robot. This demonstrated real ingenuity, technical skill and a dedication to excellence. Across the day, our students represented Templestowe College with pride. They were polite, supportive of others and had a lot of fun competing, learning and celebrating robotics with students from other schools.
TC host the Season Opener
On June 22, Templestowe College proudly hosted the VEX Robotics Season Opener, the second event held worldwide for the new season.
The event was a huge success, bringing together around 200 students for a full day of robotics competition, teamwork and problem-solving.
Templestowe College had an outstanding start to the season, with our Junior Division team, 3107A, winning the Tournament Champions Award. Congratulations to Fraser N, Lachlan G and Thomas F on this fantastic achievement.
Our Senior Division team, 1002D, also performed exceptionally well, finishing 3rd in the semifinals and 2nd in the finals. Well done to Ethan W, Charlie G, Alex K, Oliver E and Dex H for their impressive performance.
Congratulations to all students involved for representing Templestowe College with skill, determination and sportsmanship.
Food Technology
Food Trucks
This term, Food Technology students proudly showcased their learning through our Food Truck Showcase. Students explored cuisines from around the world and designed their own food truck concepts, creating unique signature dishes centred around rice.
During the showcase, students prepared and presented their dishes to staff and peers, who sampled the food and provided valuable feedback. The event gave students an authentic opportunity to apply their food preparation, teamwork, problem-solving, and presentation skills in a real-world setting.
We were incredibly impressed by the creativity, effort, and enthusiasm displayed by all students. Congratulations to everyone involved for making the showcase such a successful and enjoyable event.
