International Student Program

International Program  

Welcome to our new 2026 international students!  

🌍 We have a total of 54 international students here at TC.  We welcomed 10 new students this term and will possibly welcome two more in Term 2.  Our students are from China, Hong Kong, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.  

Lunar New Year  

🧧🎉 This year the Lunar New Year fell during Term 1, from 17 February to 3 March.  We celebrated with our students giving them red pockets with chocolate 🍫 dumplings 🥟 and spring rolls.  Lunar New Year is celebrated in China, Korea, and Vietnam and of course in all those communities all around the world.  

Language Centre activities  

Students learned about Public Transport and Shopping 

🚉 The Language Centre went on a PTV excursion to learn to use public transport. They made their way to the city on a bus, then participated in a range of activities including visiting Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne Central and the State Library.  

🚌 Luna - “Today our teachers took us to Melbourne Central! I have never travelled with my friends of Melbourne. I felt very excited. We need to take the bus.”  

🕰️ Elise - “I saw the big clock in the shopping mall.  We went to the Victoria Library and saw some old things. I think it's interesting.  Today is an excited day.”  

End of term celebration  

🎂🎉 We celebrated the end of the term with cake and singing happy birthday to the students who turned 18 this term.
