Congratulations!

Congratulations! 🎟️

By Mietta Palmer

Last week, TC was buzzing with anticipation for this year's musical Legally Blonde Jnr! Over four spectacular nights, TC’s hardworking performing arts students, teachers, and tech magicians joined forces to pull off the extravaganza. I had the honour of attending the opening night on Tuesday 12th August. I joined a lively crowd eager to see this high-spirited production come to life.

TC brought a pure, infectious energy that highlighted the vibrant performance and captivated the audience, who, I assure you, were in awe. From the moment the curtain opened, the cast’s enthusiasm was palpable. Every musical number was delivered with commitment and charm. The audience couldn’t help but tap along to the catchy songs. The set was brought to life through the numerous and intricate props which helped immerse the characters and the audience in Elle’s world.

The story, originally a movie, follows Elle Woods, a fashion-forward sorority girl. Her world is turned upside down when her dreamy boyfriend, Warner, breaks up with her to attend Harvard Law. Refusing to give up, Elle follows him to Harvard, where she faces new academic and social challenges. Through determination and newfound friends, Elle discovers her potential and learns the value of self-belief.

The cast brought each character to life with individuality and authentic charm, earning cracks of laughter from the audience, creating a connected and spirited experience. The costumes were bright and brilliant, perfectly capturing the spirit of the show and of the early-2000s Y2K Malibu atmosphere.

Musical Directors Hayden, Maddy and Julian

TC’s Legally Blonde Jnr was truly a testament to the school’s strong performing arts program and the dedication of its students and staff. For those who attended, it was an unforgettable night full of laughter, music, and inspiration.

The chemistry on set was impeccable, with each actor playing their role with expertise and ardour. Credit is also due to the student directors and teachers for assembling such a talented and cohesive cast.

Jasmine Fuga, TC Grad and performing arts enthusiast, played this year's lead, Elle Woods. “I have absolutely loved being involved in TC’s 2025 production of Legally Blonde Jnr,” she said, “The character of Elle Woods has always been really special to me and a dream role of mine for a long time, so it was amazing to get the privilege to play her this year in my last school musical.” As a Grad, this is Jasmine’s last production with TC, so last week's performance was truly bittersweet. She says that “working alongside the incredible cast and staff was so much fun and definitely something I am going to miss next year, but I am looking forward to what TC has in store. I can't wait to be in the audience cheering everyone on!”

With such talent, dedication and infectious school spirit on display, it’s clear that TC’s performing arts program will continue to deliver unforgettable experiences. I, for one, can’t wait to see what amazing production they bring to life next year.

Course Counselling - Wednesday 27 August

Our 2026 Course Counselling Day is happening on Wednesday 27 August.

Please note there are no regular classes scheduled on this day.

All students (with their parents) from Entry to FLE4 need to make an appointment with their Connect teacher to complete their subject preferences for 2026.

If you have not booked a time, please do so on Compass (same process as our Student/Parent/Teacher Conferences). Appointments are completed online via Teams and links for meetings will be sent out next Tuesday.

This is an essential part of our timetable creation for next year and a great opportunity for families to work together to build a great course. If you are looking for more information about the subjects on offer next year, please check out www.subjects.tc.vic.edu.au

Students have been completing their career action plans and their Individual Learning Plans in Connect over the past couple of weeks and should be well informed about the process, but if you have any questions please email the Connect teacher directly.

Thank you,

Adam Cribbes
Assistant Principal - Director of Learning

Respecting our Toilets

Students are being reminded across multiple platforms, including in the recent and upcoming Community Assemblies, about appropriate use of toilets. We are so grateful to our students who report concerns with the toilets, and appreciate the cooperation of most students in working together to keep toilets a clean and safe space.

In particular, we are reminding all students that only one person is allowed in a toilet cubicle at any time. This is an essential requirement that staff will be following up swiftly. We would appreciate conversations with students around this at home, and please reach out to the school if you have any questions or concerns.
