Update to Student Internet Filters โ€“ Commencing Monday 1 December

Dear parents and carers,

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming adjustment to our internal internet filters.

๐Ÿ’ปFrom Monday 1 December, access to online games will be restricted during class time. Students will continue to have access to games before 8:50am, during recess and lunch, and at the conclusion of the last period of the day. This refinement is part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a learning environment that maximises student engagement.

In addition, our school will be updating its social media policies to align with the current stance of the Federal Government and the Department of Education. As a result, students will no longer be able to access social media at any time during the school day.

We understand that some families may prefer a more comprehensive level of filtering for their child. If this is the case, your childโ€™s Community Executive Team (CET) are best placed to support you with this process.

We appreciate your support as we continue to strengthen safe, responsible and productive technology use across our school community. If you have any questions regarding these changes, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind regards,
Liam Oโ€™Neill

2026 School Captain announcement

Congratulations

๐ŸŽŠ

Congratulations ๐ŸŽŠ

Congratulations to Delanah, Ezra, Kate and Millyca, our 2026 School Captains.

Our 2026 leaders were chosen for their dedication, leadership, initiative and positive contribution to the TC community. We canโ€™t wait to see the energy, ideas and impact theyโ€™ll bring to their roles next year!

2026 Timetables now available

๐Ÿ“…2026 TIMETABLES

From today you will all be able to access a current copy of your 2026 timetable. This can be found in your ILP at this LINK (you will be required to log in using your TC login credentials).

This provisional timetable is for next year and is still subject to change. The times that classes run may still change before HeadStart.

Head Start timetables will be available via Compass later in the term. Please note that during Head Start some subjects may have different teachers and rooms, and changes may still occur.

๐Ÿ”„VCE CHANGE REQUESTS

If you would like to request a change to your 2026 timetable, please submit your request using the 2026 Subject Change Request form.

Fill out 2026 VCE subject change request form

Please read all the information on the form as it explains the blocking, subject codes and limitations.

Please note that some VCE subject change requests will require parent approval and may require a careers meeting. Please check your Teams regularly during this period to be across communication regarding the status of your change request.

The 2026 Subject Change Request form will close at 5pm on Wednesday 26 November. This will give us the best chance to process requests in time for Head Start. The form will re-open at 2:00pm on Friday 5 December.

The final date for VCE subject change requests to be submitted is Friday 9 February (Week 2) but the sooner these are submitted the better.

A change is only finalised when you receive a Compass chronicle notifying you that a change has occurred. Until this time, you are expected to attend your timetable on Compass. Please be patient as this process can take some time so if you message and ask it will only slow us down.

Please note changes to move into the same subject/s may not be approved.

โฌœBLANKS

If you have a blank on your timetable (no subject allocated to you), please contact your Community Team immediately and they will help you through the process of selecting a new subject.

๐Ÿ”—CONNECT

2026 CONNECT groups are being finalised and are not available at this time. Instead, 2025 CONNECT groups will be used during the Head Start period. Please continue attending your current Connect during Head Start.

๐Ÿ“ALL OTHER SUBJECT CHANGES

We are NOT accepting other (FLE โ€“ Pre) requests for subject changes prior to the Head Start period.

If you would like to make a subject change for 2026, you will need to wait until Change Week โ€“ Week 3 of Term 1 next year. Head Start is a great time to try out your new class, and three lessons is not enough time to give your new class a real go.

If you fill out this form for a non-VCE change, it will NOT be processed.

This data will be collected on a separate form that will come out at a later date.

Art Show Opening & Market

Artwork by Indi Travis

Throughout the year, TC students participating in electives such as media ๐ŸŽฅ, art ๐ŸŽจ, graphic design, digital design ๐Ÿ’ป, jewellery making, the LEGO elective ๐Ÿงฑ, and all the creative VCE subjects have been developing their creative thinking skills as well as practical skills. On Monday 17 November, all the students' work was collated beautifully and exhibited in S-Wing, the space transformed into an art gallery.

Alongside the exhibition, students and teachers got together to run TC's market, with some stalls featuring baked goods ๐Ÿง, henna art, drinks and other crafts like jewellery and crochet. Buyers helped support charities and the school.
The exhibition featured a stunning array of art pieces, including hand-sculpted ceramics and carefully crafted woodwork pieces like chopping boards and clocks. These creations showcase the talents and creativity of TCโ€™s students, drawing admiration from everyone who attended.

At the back of S-Wing, a pop-up theatre was set up projecting studentsโ€™ short films, highlighting the depth and variety of artistic talent at TC.

A highlight of the event was Mini Gossโ€™s (TCโ€™s Art Director and Design Teacher) farewell speech. She expressed her deep gratitude to the TC community as she steps into retirement, saying how โ€œwonderful itโ€™s been to work here these past nine yearsโ€ and help build TCโ€™s art community. Her words resonated with staff and students, marking the end of an era and celebrating her significant contribution

The showcase also included an inspiring address from young artist and TC graduate Miki Flett, who shared her journey and spoke passionately about the importance of community and support for emerging artists. She expressed her belief in the incredible talent at TC and encouraged everyone to pursue their artistic ambitions with confidence.

Throughout the event, attendees were treated to a spread of nibbles and snacks, including TC-baked treats. The refreshments added to the warm atmosphere, giving everyone a chance to mingle and enjoy the evening.
