SCHOOL REVIEW

The School Review is underway, and I thank the staff, students, parents, carers and others in our community who have been involved. It’s been an incredibly productive process and I look forward to seeing the report when it’s released.

Interschool sports - guidelines regarding parent/guardian attendance

As we begin our upcoming Division, Regional and State-level sport events, we would like to remind families of several important guidelines regarding parent and guardian attendance.

To ensure we meet our Child Safe obligations, parents and guardians are asked not to attend Division, Regional and State-level interschool sport events unless this has been arranged in advance with the school’s Interschool Sport Coordinator. Parents and guardians must hold a valid Working with Children Check, which must be submitted to the school prior to the event.

In line with School Sport Victoria Child Safe Policies, parents and guardians are not permitted to take photographs, record videos or live stream during these events.

We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all students participating.

2025 Entry Camp students

  • Next week, our Entry students are off to their first TC camp, where they will get to know each other, challenge themselves and enjoy an exciting program of outdoor activities.

  • Information regarding our Student Parent Teacher Conferences (SPTC) is now on Compass and below. Thank you to families who gave valuable feedback about how we run these days. I encourage all parents, carers and students to actively engage in the SPTC process as part of their learning and progression.

Entry Camp

Our Entry students will be off on camp next week for a fun-filled adventure to challenge themselves and build on the strong connections they have already made.  Please note that due to this, our Community Executive Teams will be short staffed for the week.

Attending Entry Camp is such a great opportunity for students to connect with their Community Teams early in their TC journey, so we appreciate your patience during the week if communication from the teams is slower than usual.

Assistant Principal – Transition and Community Executive Teams

TC News: International Women's Day

🧡 Do you have an orange hoodie or t-shirt? Next week is the perfect occasion to wear it! Harmony Week runs from 16-22 March and the theme this year is ‘Everyone Belongs’, with the key focus on acknowledging and celebrating Australia’s cultural diversity. 🌏🎉

Harmony Week emphasises inclusivity, empathy and respect for all people regardless of their culture. 🤝 I remember in primary school we’d have a ‘food swap’ and share food that was from our own culture. My favourite part (other than eating) was to learn about my classmates’ staple and nostalgic meals. 🍜🍛

On top of this, Harmony Week also highlights how diversity and multiculturalism have enriched and created the Australia we know today. The week offers an opportunity for everyone to recognise the contributions of people from all backgrounds and their impact on Australian customs and living, especially acknowledging First Nations peoples as the traditional owners and carers of this land.

Harmony Week on the other hand is also considered to be insufficient in properly addressing systemic issues such as racism and inequity. Although the week is great in fostering a space of harmony, it is not enough to combat these complex issues within our society.

✨ Which is why I am excited to announce that TC will be running an event for Harmony Week.

🧡 TC Connect groups and staff members have received “kindness kits” which aim to promote values of harmony. They will receive a piece of paper on which they can write or draw something related to harmony and, at the end, a wall will be decorated with all the wonderful and colourful creations. 🎨

🧡 If you’d like to get involved this Harmony week, make sure to wear orange and check out these links to events organised for Harmony week:
