SCHOOL REVIEW

We have just completed our School Review. The School Review is a process all department schools complete every four years to celebrate their achievements and focus their work for the next strategic plan. It was an absolute delight to celebrate that TC is a High Performing School, according to the department’s school performance model.

During the review process, the panel gathers input from students, staff and parents, as well as observe classes in action. The panel was made up of a department appointed reviewer, our Senior Education Improvement Leader, our School Council President Claire O’Sullivan, two other school principals, and several TC staff, including me.

We were all impressed with the articulate feedback from the students, who know exactly what they want from their school. We now wait for the final report to be published and the new strategic plan to be finalised and endorsed.

School Council Election Ballot Results

Nominations for election to TC School Council closed on 27 February 2026.

We received:

  • Three nominations for three Parents Member positions.

  • Two nominations for two School Employee Member positions.

  • Four nominations for one Student Member position.

Therefore, I am pleased to announce that the following members of our school community have been elected to School Council.

We would like to thank our students for voting in the TC School Council election ballot. Voting closed for the TC School Council election on Tuesday 17 March 2026. The votes have now been counted, and I’m pleased to announce Oscar Varricchio as the successful candidate.

I would like to thank all the candidates for their interest in supporting our school by participating in School Council.

COMING UP

Next week is a disrupted week for learning at TC, with the planned industrial action (24 March) and two days of Student Parent Teacher Conferences (26 and 27 March).

I will post information about the strike day and the arrangements for Tuesday 24 March on Monday morning through the Compass portal.

It is important to maintain respect for everyone in the community when we are dealing with an issue that will impact people in different ways. I reiterate my message that we must model how to have respectful interactions even when we disagree. The AEU has taken this protected industrial action in accordance with all the legal requirements and the school’s AEU sub-branch has maintained its strong relationship with school leadership. I thank them for modelling a respectful relationship.

It is always a highlight of the term, although an exhausting end of the week for teachers, when we get to meet families to discuss the progress of our students. Read more from Liam below about the Student Parent Teacher Conferences, including how to book.

Have a great week.
