Individualised Pathway @ TC

Should a student wish to deviate from the whole school plan, in line with the VCAA Curriculum Planning and Reporting guidelines (under provision 82 and 83), they will have to complete an ILP that is signed off by their Parents and the School Principal (or designated representative). These are the steps to follow:

  1. Complete an Individualised Learning Plan online using the TC ILP platform. This will be completed working with the students Connect Mentor and relevant Career staff if necessary

  2. A meeting will be held between the Connect Mentor, Student and Students Parent/s

  3. Complete subject selection through the ILP

  4. Have the individualised learning plan signed by a parent/guardian. This will be done electronically. The students plan will also be sighted and signed by a Principals representative

  5. The Plan shall be kept online

If a Student Wants to Make an Adjustment to their ILP

Should a student wish to make a change to their ILP throughout the year, the following process will take place:

  1. Student approaches their Community Executive Team

  2. Community Executive Team assesses whether the change impacts on the students ILP pathway

  3. Community Executive Team makes contact with students parents for confirmation of the change

  4. The student needs to update their ILP online in the TC ILP Platform

  5. The change is then confirmed and recorded through Compass

  6. Subject change is made in First Class

If a student is not studying an English or Maths Subject at the Equivalent of Year 10 or lower

If a student has not selected an English or Maths Subject in the equivalent of Year 10 or below, the following procedure will be followed:

  1. Student Identified

  2. Phone call from Community Executive Team to Parent

  3. Has the student already completed the relevant subject covering the Year 10 subject content?

  4. Is there an alternative subject that a student is developing these skills within?

  5. Correspondence from parents declaring that the parent knows that their student is not studying the subject, and explaining why.

  6. Correspondence to be signed by a Principal or a Principal’s representative

  7. If appropriate, student is still assessed against Victorian Curriculum

Process for Parent Sign Off

Student subject selection are made in consultation with their parents and a member of the school staff.

During the selection process the staff member enters the selected subjects and submits for approval. If the parent approves of the ILP they submit their approval through the ILP platform
