Parent Contributions 2027

The Department of Education has communicated more information about the changes to the parent contribution policy for 2027. I want to emphasise that this is not a decision in any way related to the school leadership. It was communicated to us as a ‘must do’. It has made the job of communicating to the community about parent contributions more difficult and we are concerned about the impact it will have on school resourcing. It is not a decision that I am happy with, but one I must follow.

We are extremely fortunate to have a very supportive parent community that supports all the additional programs at TC and will monitor closely the contribution levels. If at any point you need additional information of support in this area our finance team will be happy to offer support.

I will continue to inform you of how we ‘must’ implement this change. I thank you in advance for your understanding of this department-led policy change.

Coffee with the principal

The Coffee with the Principal sessions return this term and I would love the opportunity to continue to meet parents and talk about the school and its students.

I would like to keep these sessions small so that everyone has the opportunity to talk with me, and each other, and will therefore limit each session to 10 people.

Please make sure that you book a place if interested using the link below:

Coffee with the Principal - In Person

Coffee with the Principal - Online

I look forward to seeing you there.

Students Offsite during the School Day

Templestowe College is committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing and supervision of all students during school hours. We have been having a lot of constructive conversations with students, staff, and the community to discuss these issues.
Due to increasing concerns regarding students leaving school grounds during the day, the College is implementing a trial process to maintain duty of care obligations, support student accountability, and strengthen communication with families.

TC aims to provide safe, engaging classroom and breaktime environments for students, and consults regularly with individuals and the community on how to maintain this within the school.

As part of this new process, students seen offsite without having been signed out, will be required to attend a Community contribution session on Wednesday afternoons, where they will engage in reflective conversations and some helping around the school.

The process will be in place from November 9 2026, we’d love it if families could reiterate at home the requirement that students remain onsite during the school day.

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns, and enjoy the weekend!

Project Stationery Donations

Templestowe College is collecting both used and unused stationery donations for Project Stationery, a Melbourne-based volunteer group dedicated to supporting those in need. Please note that there is no need to purchase new items for this donation, simply donate what you already have at home 🖊️✂️📏📘.

Project Stationery redistributes stationery each year to individuals and families who can benefit from these resources. Along with stationery, they also accept craft materials in good condition. However, please refrain from donating glitter or dried-up paints.

Please refer to the list of accepted items to ensure your donation meets the requirements. Thank you for your generosity and support! Donations can be left in the labelled boxes in S wing until the end of Term 4🖊️✂️📏📘. If you have any questions, please contact Cathy Dewar - ccr@tc.vic.edu.au.

TC Animals Program is seeking donations

The Animals Program is seeking donations of household recycling!

Over the next few weeks, if you would kindly set aside toilet paper rolls, egg cartons, paper towel rolls, tissue boxes and other small cardboard items, our animals would be greatly appreciative.

A collection box will be located at the Front Office from next week, to collect any donations you might be willing to share.
