TC WHOLE SCHOOL SWEATERS/HOODIES ORDER NOW OPEN
Please find information on how to order our range of TC Sweaters and Hoodies for 2023. We are excited to offer 3 designs this year with the introduction of a navy sweater to complement our hoodies.
Follow this link: https://shop.reformclothing.com/join/wp3281 to make a log in, instructions are attached in the PDF. If you have ordered school hoodies before, your login could take you back to an old webpage and you will see something like "order closed". To fix this, check in the web address you are looking at is the order called 'wp3281' - either use an in-private web browser or a fresh email and password to avoid this problem.
Orders will be open until we return to school in Term 1- until Friday the 17th of February this will allow students to try the size range on at school if needed. If you a prefer contactless try on, all the measurements of the garments are on the Reform website. Choose a jumper you have at home, lay it down flat and measure the body, you can then compare this size to reform sizes.
As the order is open until February delivery will be at the beginning of Term 2.
Happy Ordering,
TC
Change Week - Semester 1 Subject Changes
Change week begins next week, students wanting to make changes to their subjects will be able to do so via a form posted on their community teams page. Any questions regarding this process, students should talk to their community team in SWING.
An important date - students will not be able to join VCE Unit 1 or 3 classes past the 10th of February. This is so students are able to complete all the content and attendance requirements for the semester.
Clubs Start Next Week
Our expansive clubs program starts next week. The list below is the list as it stands now, but this will have a few additions next week. Breakfast club isn’t running this Monday. We encourage all of our students to take advantage of these great opportunities here @ TC.
EDROLO PAYMENT PORTAL
Edrolo Payment Portal is ready to go for families to action. The attached document includes instructions and step-by-steps on how to access/action.
Key notes:
these resources are ONLY for particular VCE subjects
payments for resource to be made by Friday February 17th.
TC 2023 School Production
We are extremely excited to announce that this year TC will be putting on 'The Addams Family Musical' as our school production. There is a meeting at lunchtime on Monday for all students interested in participating. So whether you want to be on stage under lights or back stage controlling them, we would love to have you involved. Everyone is welcome.
Maths Tutoring
Maths Study Club starting this Friday, 3rd Feb, 2:10 - 3:10pm
Each Friday during term, the Maths team and our student tutors are available in the Maths wing for free tutoring. The Maths club is open to all TC students. Students are encouraged to bring along their classwork to complete during this time and ask any questions. Just come on into B-wing and we'll help you find a space to work.
This is a supportive space for our senior students to prepare for upcoming SAC's and assessments and our junior students to be supported to learn Maths concepts.
Wendy Gooley and Kat Suller
Changes to VCE Attendance Requirements for 2023
The minimum attendance requirement for VCE at TC is set at 80% for 2023, which every student is required to achieve.
The final date of Unit 1/Unit 3 is Friday 9th June 2023. If a VCE student’s attendance is not at 80% or above for any subject at this time, they will automatically receive an N for this subject, no exceptions.
Should absences be for medical reasons, please make sure medical certificates are submitted to the General Office so that our records can be updated to accurately reflect attendance. Absence with a medical certificate is the only absence type that counts as approved absence.
VCAA guidelines state that VCE students should not be taking extended family holidays during term time. If this occurs the absence will not be approved and the student will be at risk of being able to satisfy the requirements of their subjects.
The best way for a student to increase their attendance level is to attend classes.
Please note that there is no longer a catch up class process.
If a student has ongoing health concerns that affect their attendance, they can apply for an attendance exemption by contacting myself (kkat@tc.vic.edu.au) or Liam O’Neill (lone@tc.vic.edu.au)
If there are circumstances that may be impacting a student’s attendance, please make sure to get in contact with the relevant Community Team.
If you have any questions about these or other processes to do with attendance please don’t hesitate to get in contact.

Camps, Sports & Excursions Fund (CSEF) - Apply Now
School camps provide children with inspiring experiences in the great outdoors. Excursions encourage a deeper understanding of how the world works while sports teach teamwork, discipline, and leadership. All are a part of a healthy curriculum.
CSEF is provided by the Victorian Government to assist eligible families to cover the costs of school trips, camps, and sporting activities.
If you hold a valid means-tested concession card or are a temporary foster parent, you may be eligible for CSEF. A special consideration category also exists for asylum seeker and refugee families. The allowance is paid to the school to use towards expenses relating to camps, excursions, or sporting activities for the benefit of your child.
The annual CSEF amount per student is $225 for secondary school students.
HOW TO APPLY
Please complete the linked CSEF application form and return it to the General Office with a copy of your concession card.
If you successfully applied for CSEF at Templestowe College last year, you do not need to complete an application form this year unless there has been a change in your family circumstances.
You only need to complete an application form if any of the following changes have occurred:
new student enrolments; your child has started or changed schools this year.
changed family circumstances; such as a change of custody, change of name, concession card number, or new siblings commencing this year.
For more information please visit Help with school costs and fees | Victorian Government (www.vic.gov.au) or contact the Accounts team at Templestowe College on 9850 6333 (option 3) or email accounts@tc.vic.edu.au.
Photographing, Filming and Recording students opt out
During the school year there are many occasions and events where staff may photograph, film or record students participating in school activities and events. We do this for many reasons including to celebrate student participation and achievement, showcase particular learning programs, document a student’s learning journey/camps/excursions/sports events etc, communicate with our parents and school community in newsletters and on classroom blogs/apps etc.
If you would like to Opt OUT of having your child used in media within the school community or in publications/locations that are publicly accessibly please read our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy and complete the Annual Consent Form and return to the general office.
Panorama Bus Service
Please note bus times have not changed from 2022 and can be found here on our website. They also have a new code of conduct and safety and wellbeing policy that can be found on our transport page.

Back to School Tips!
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a great summer break and got in some much-needed relaxation time. With a new school year comes new subjects, teachers and information. Although this is very exciting, it can be a lot to deal with so hopefully, these tips can alleviate some of that back-to-school anxiety and make the transition smoother.
Stick your schedule inside your locker
This tip is great since everyone will have a brand-new schedule and we shouldn't be checking compass on our phones.
Check compass before school
Checking compass before school starts in case there is a room change or teacher change. Also, you can look at the TVs above A-Wing and B-Wing to see if there has been a change.
Make sure your parent or guardian can log in your absences properly.
Check teams regularly
Most communication about community events, key dates, job opportunities and everything else happening at TC, will be posted on your community teams page. So make sure to check teams regularly to avoid missing out on anything essential!
Make sure to know who your points of contact are
This is super important because there is definitely going to be a time throughout the year when you will need to know who your points of contact are for things like IT, subject changes or any other questions.
Keep a diary
My favourite tip is to keep a diary! It's crucial to make sure you're already on top of everything to start the school year off right. I would recommend colour coordinating as well. I use a pink pen for SACs or tests, a blue pen for community events and a purple pen for Homework.
Stay Hydrated
This year one of my New Year's resolutions is to stay hydrated, so I decided to pick up a 2L water bottle from Kmart and carry it around with me everywhere! I have already noticed feeling more focused and aware throughout the day.
Join a Club
There are so many great clubs to join at TC. There's a club running every day, and it's a great way to make new friends. Taylor Swift Fan Club is the best one (not biased at all) but, there is also History Club, Cheerleading Club, Chess Club and many many more.
Wishing you all a successful year. You’ve got this!
