To co-create high quality learning experiences within an inclusive and supportive community
— TC2018-2021 Our Vision

Next Week @ TC - 12th October 2018

To the TC Community,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back to term 4. The weather outside has given us a warm start to the term. This term sees the final few weeks for our Grads, on what has been for some a 6 year journey. Many of them, along with our Unit 4 students will soon begin to intensify their exam preparations even further as classes draw to a close. There are many different resources available on the internet around how to prepare for exams, and how to support your child preparing for their exams. I highly recommend doing some research in order to help prepare for this stressful time.

I would also like to welcome the new members of our community to this email. I have included a bit of information for you below.

2018 Graduates Celebration events:

On Wednesday the 18th of October we celebrate our 2018 graduates time at TC. In the morning graduates will join staff for breakfast in the PAC from 7am. We then have a whole school assembly period 1 and a dinner celebration for graduates and their parents in the evening, held at the San Remo Ballroom.

Parents of graduating students are welcome to join us for the final assembly, where each student will participate in a roll call, receive a ‘funny award’ and we will reflect on their time at TC with a video presentation and musical items. To facilitate reserved seating, if you are would like to attend the assembly please email Sophie Hoptroff on SHOP@tc.vic.edu.au . Seating will commence from 8.25am.

As this is a celebration all students attend, no classes will run period 1 on Thursday. Students who are late should make their way to the Sports Centre upon arrival. The General Office will also be closed for period one to enable staff from this area to attend the assembly.

For the rest of the day no unit 3&4 classes will run as graduates are given the opportunity to go on an excursion to the beach or get ready for the graduation dinner at night.

From Friday the 19th of October to Wednesday the 24th of October unit 3&4 classes will run as scheduled. This extended class time running in 2018 has been implemented after feedback last year from students requesting more face to face time with staff for exam preparation. This will not affect students VCE attendance, please refer to Sally Holloway’s news item for attendance information for non-graduates undertaking a unit 4 study.
