To co-create high quality learning experiences within an inclusive and supportive community
— TC2018-2021 Our Vision

Next Week @ TC - 11th October 2018

To the TC Community,

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone back to term 4. This term sees the final few weeks for our Grads, on what has been for some a 6 year journey. Many of them, along with our Unit 4 students will soon begin to intensify their exam preparations even further as classes draw to a close. There are many different resources available on the internet around how to prepare for exams, and how to support your child preparing for their exams. I highly recommend doing some research in order to help prepare for this stressful time.

We are also nearing towards some announcements around TC2020. We have looked at the information gathered from students and parents to create some proposals for what our Connect program will look like. We are now in the final stages of refining these proposals so that we can start to announce and continue with our planning. I am looking forward to sharing the announcements with you shortly.

Announcements for Next Week:

  • Student Leadership Opportunities for 2020

  • Attention 2020 Grads

  • Sports Update

  • Working with animals needs a builder

  • Key Dates for term 4

  • Plans for next week - Grads final official week

  • 2020 Alpine School Applications

All students have been emailed information around opportunities for student leadership for 2020. There are some great opportunities for students to lead @ TC.

Exciting news! Your Grad jumpers are ready to order! This year we have a record number of FOUR different designs you can choose from. You can order as many as you want and have different nicknames on each jumper.

Please find in your emails an attached explanation document on how to order and link below to start ordering!

You have a bit of time before orders are due, however the size range (now available in the RC SWING) is only at TC for the next two weeks. Get in now to avoid disappointment!!!

2019 Graduates Celebration events:

On Thursday the 17th of October we celebrate our 2019 graduates time at TC. In the morning graduates will join staff for breakfast in the PAC from 7am. We then have a whole school assembly period 1 and a dinner celebration for graduates and their parents in the evening, held at the San Remo Ballroom.

Parents of graduating students are welcome to join us for the final assembly, where each student will participate in a roll call, receive a ‘funny award’ and we will reflect on their time at TC with a video presentation and musical items. To facilitate reserved seating, if you are would like to attend the assembly please respond to the email sent by Sophie via Compass. Seating will commence from 8.25am.

As this is a celebration all students attend, no classes will run for period 1 and into period 2 on Thursday. Students who are late should make their way to the Sports Centre upon arrival. The General Office will also be closed for period one to enable staff from this area to attend the assembly.

For the rest of the day no unit 3&4 classes will run.

From Friday the 18th of October to Friday the 25th of October unit 3&4 classes will run as scheduled. This extended class time running has been introduced after feedback previous years from students requesting more face to face time with staff for exam preparation. Attendance is not mandatory, and will not affect students VCE attendance.

Opportunity for Alpine School – School for Student Leadership – Term One 2020

The opportunity has arisen for Year 9 Aged Students (Note: this is a Department of Education run initiative, hence the reference to Year Levels): Two boys and Two girls to attend the School for Student Leadership (Alpine School – Snowy River Campus) for up to ten weeks in Term One 2020.

During this placement, students will be challenged in a variety of ways to develop both themselves and their leadership qualities in a way that will enable them to grow resilience, confidence and self-efficacy – all important traits in aspiring towards self-development and leadership of self and others. The website ( provides relevant information regarding the opportunities available.

Students interested in exploring this opportunity further can find out more by emailing John Sanderson ( for more information regarding the Program.

Have a good weekend,
